Gay Sex Toys

To own land within Second Life users need to be a "premium" rather than "basic" user, paying $9.95 a month. This is offset by receiving a weekly payment of 300 Linden dollars.

The big bucks come when you want to own your own private island. First year costs are $1,695 plus $295 a month in maintenance fees -- and that's real money. Remember, these "islands" are just a collection of pixels on a computer monitor.

Given the enormous sums now being traded on Second Life, it's little wonder the taxman is beginning to sniff around. Last year, Gay Sex Toys the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress announced it was probing the amount of commerce in Second Life. Computer giant IBM (NYSE: IBM) Latest News about IBM built 12 new islands within the virtual world and opened up shops. Other media companies apart from Reuters have had a Second Life presence. Last year, Radio 1 "rented" a tropical island online and hosted gigs by Franz Ferdinand, Pink and the Arctic Monkeys. The event was hosted by a portly Chris Moyles avatar based on Gay Sex Toys the real life DJ.

Sarcastic TV comedian Jimmy Carr has given a stand-up routine simultaneously in London and on Second Life, where avatars had to win a competition in the real world to get access to the online gig.

Also, U.S. singer Regina Spektor became the first person to release a record within Second Life before the real world when her fourth album "Begin To Hope" went on sale in online stores a week before real ones.

The big question, then is shouldn't these people get a real life? You might think so, and you wouldn't be alone. A hugely Gay Sex Toys popular spoof site, Get a First Life, encourages users to "find out where you actually live" and "go outside -- membership is free
